The council is established under Indian Registration Act of 1908, it is a premier vocational training institute in Guwahati. Skill development is the key to vocational training and this is the motto of State Council for Vocational Education. Our emphasis has been on performance and not merely on knowledge. It is no exaggeration to say that State Council for Vocational Education has been recognized as a trend-setter in the field of vocational, technical, professional, job oriental and commercial education in north east region.

There is an acute shortage of skilled professionals in our country.
